The 2011-12 mini hockey season began on 11 September 2011 and will end in May 2012.
What is Mini Hockey?
Mini Hockey is a seven-a-side team sport. The players are boys and girls aged between 6 and 14. They are divided by age into an under-8 group, under-10 group, under-12 group and under-15 group. Each team from an age group only plays against other teams from their own age group. They will play on a pitch about the size of a volley ball court. Although the game requires quite a bit of exercise, it is not a dangerous game
What is the Hong Kong Kai Tak Mini Hockey Club?
Kai Tak was started in 1981 by a group of expatriates, but there are now a lot of locals playing as well. Most of our members are middle-class professionals, and the committee members serve on a voluntary basis. This year, the club would like to introduce this healthy sport to more children from both the international and local communities.
Will there be coaching and supervision?
The club has coaches for every age group. Some of the coaches are very experienced, and all of them are very patient and kind. Coaching is conducted mainly in English and Cantonese.
How can I register my child(ren) for the coming season?
Please download this registration form, fill it out and bring it with you along with a cheque to any of our training sessions on a Sunday morning.
What do parents do?
Parents are required to accompany their children to the sessions and to remain at the pitch for the duration. While they are there, they can relax in the shade, watch their children play, and chat with their friends. They are also most welcome to help the club in other ways.
What should I do if I am interested in helping out?
You should contact the committee members by telephone or e-mail.
